Research

Dr. Lowe was born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, and then spent a year after high school chasing his fantasy of becoming a musician. Reality set in and he then attended three years at the University of Victoria in the department of biology. He completed his medical degree at the University of British Columbia and spent tireless hours of interning at St. Paul's Hospital. Completed his Family Practice training at St. Paul's Hospital and it was there he developed a passion for palliative care.

After spending three years at Canuck Place and St. Paul's Hospital, he transitioned to South Surrey and quickly built up a Family Practice. He joined the White Rock palliative care team in 1999 and has been fortunate to work with many dedicated physicians, nurses, and other team members. As well, over the past eight years, he has participated in medical research trails as an investigator. Medical research has allowed him to further diversify his medical knowledge and to be part of "cutting edge" medicine. On a personal note he enjoys golf, racquet sports, keyboards (belongs to a rock band!) and volunteers with Scouts Canada. He is married to a wonderful gal and has three great children who keep them very busy.

He endeavors to achieve and maintain a balance in both his professional and personal life. Lastly, he strongly believes in giving back to the community as the community has provided him with many unique and wonderful opportunities.
